The new D
& L Sprocket cost about a third more than standard ANSI
sprockets, but the price is worth it. We make them out of a
harder material (1040 steel material) and they’re heat
treatable. Depending on use, these new sprockets will
last over five years, which is the normal lifespan of ANSI
sprockets on smaller trailers. This new design, which has
been added to D&L sprockets inventory, that’s been selling
for years, has been in use on farm trailers since February
2008 with no problems. The new patented sprocket is designed
to use more teeth pulling on the chain producing an easier
unload and smoother ride. The Power Tooth Sprocket increases
the life of the chain by decreasing the stress put on the
chain. The Power Tooth Sprocket allows the chain to fit into
the sprockets' pitch better and thus reducing the movement
and jumping of the chain that causes the chain to stretch
and the pins to break. This will make the chain wear longer.
